    • Never put in the dishwasher. Doing so will damage the handle, promote rust and could ruin the sharp edge. Wash with warm soapy water.
    • Do not leave wet or the knife may rust. Dry thoroughly after hand washing and do not store unless fully dry.
    • We highly recommend a protective layer of food grade mineral oil on the knife and timber handle. Apply after washing and drying.
    • Do not cut through bones, frozen foods etc.
    • Do not cut directly on hard surfaces such as a stone bench top; stainless steel sink; or chopping boards made from glass, ceramic and other hard materials. An end grain or plastic chopping board is best.
    • Store knives in the original box, or on a knife magnet or knife block.
    • To ensure the sharpest cutting edge, we recommend professionally sharpening your knives at least once a year.
    • If you do not wish to have your knives professionally maintained, use Japanese whetstones to sharpen your knife.
    • A honing steel can be used lightly in between sharpening on stones. Do not use a diamond or rough steel. We recommend a fine ceramic steel.
    • Not for use as a screwdriver, can opener, or in gun fights.
    • Proper care, along with correct technique will ensure the longevity of your Nine Fingers Forge knife.
    • Damage resulting from improper knife care may void warranty.
